Drinks & Cocktails

Saturday night was the birthday of one of the friends of my hosts and as such I was invited along to join in the celebration. Bear in mind that at this point I had only had the 3-4 hours sleep on the plane and was eating food non-stop to stay awake (devoured a bowl of pork and noodles in minutes, and i was having problems holding the chopsticks)

Cocktails were had in the bar at the top of the WFC tower, the pictures above show the building next door (Jin Mao Tower) and the view as we looked across to it from the bar, consider that the Jin Mao Tower is 40m taller than the Empire State in the US and you get some idea of how far up we were, and the building still has a few floors above us..... you could feel the building move occasionally, or could have been the ginger mojitos :)

Dinner was at a little restaurant sat in the middle of a pond surrounded by trees, bit surreal when you consider the hustle the other side of those trees. Sat with the windows open you could watch the bats outside keeping the bug count down.

The restaurant was not actually chinese, but as the birthday girl's choice and me desperate for more food I was not bothered and quite contently ordered a steak sandwich :)
